Choose Greystone Energy Current Sensors and Switches For Power Monitoring.

For whatever your power and current monitoring needs are, you can rely on Greystone Energy’s line of current sensors and switches, suitable for a variety of applications.   There is a series sure to meet the project requirements at any level.  Let’s take a quick overview of Greystone’s current offering.

CS Mini Switch
CS Mini Switch Series

Model CS, is a series of mini current switches that monitor line current.  Suited for electrical loads such as lighting, conveyors, pumps, heaters and fans.  When the trip point is exceeded, the output contacts close.  0.5 Amps is the factory set trip point on the CS-GnG-100, and the CS-610-75 model is field adjustable for .75 to 75 Amps simply by knob rotation.  The CS Series minis have no external power requirements, rather it is powered via the AC line’s induction that’s being monitored.

A step up from the Minis, is the standard CS Series that have a factory-set trip point of .75 Amps on the model CS-GnG-200 and a range of 1 to 200 Amps on the CS-610-200, which is field adjustable.  Again, powered exclusively from the induction of the AC line which is monitored.

SC Switch Series

SC Switch Series

The Model SC is a series of AC current switches which are "split-core".  These solid-state switches activate contact closure when monitored current surpasses a pre-set level. There are several versions for the switching of various loads. Built in LEDs display switch status and device power. Capable of monitoring to 200 Amps continuous, this series has the added benefit of an auto-range circuit, replacing manual jumpers.

CS-425-HC Series

CS-425-HC Series

For high output current switch needs, seek the model CS-425-HC.  A solid-state switch that includes Normally Open TRIAC outputs to monitor and control high-current AC loads.  These also feature internal circuits powered via the induction monitored.  Loads can be switched from 120 VAC to 2.5 Amps by the device output.

CS625 Series

CS625 Series

Greystone's CS-625 is a high output AC current sensor, which is customarily used in motor control providing On/Of Status, motor failure, belt loss and proof of operation.  External power not required.  Capable of switching loads up to 1 Amp or 240 VAC.

Power monitoring has never been made more simple than with Greystone Energy's Current Switches and Sensors offering.  Find these and any other Greystone part at E-Controls.net today.

Product Spotlight: The C2DOS Series CO2 Transmitters from Greystone Energy

Greystone Energy released the C2DOS Series in 2022, replacing their CDD4 series of room CO2 transmitters with optional temperature sensing.  This device employs an accurate “non-dispersive infrared” or NDIR sensor within a vented, weatherproof enclosure which monitors outside levels of Carbon Dioxide.  Using dual-wavelength optics and LTA (long-term adjustment) signal processing, this technology provides both reliability and long-term accuracy.

The C2DOS Series replaced the CDD4 Series

Having infrared technology to monitor CO2, the transmitter operates with a linear 4-20 mA or 0-5/10 Vdc signal for outputs which are field selectable.  The unit enlists a programmable CO2 measurement span, and the display features a back-lit alphanumeric LCD that includes user-friendly menu for quick set up.  Greystone produces the C2DOS with optional features, including resistive temperature sensors (NTC, Type 2 and 3, 100 Ohm Platinum, and 1000 Ohm Nickel to name a few), a control relay option with programmable setpoint, hysteresis and time delay, and a heated or unheated enclosure.

The outside carbon dioxide transmitters are 5.3” wide by 7.2” tall, and 3.5” deep.  This series includes .85” knockouts for conduit connections and can be mounted directly to building wall face using provided mounting holes.  It connects to a Building Automation System using the 3 wire configuration with screw block terminal provided.

The CD2OS series of Outside Carbon Dioxide Transmitters are backed by Greystone Energy’s standard five (5) year limited warranty.  For more information on this device see the forms at their respective links below:

Greystone’s TE200B Series Replaced By TSAP Series

Several lines of Greystone Energy’s temperature products have been redesigned and released throughout the past year with new enclosures and new features.  These changes have prompted new model numbering across their catalog.  The popular TE200B Series of duct mounted temperature sensors previously employed a round ABS enclosure which has been updated with the hinged box-type enclosure, or TSAP Series.

The TSAP Series All Purpose Duct/Immsersion Temperature Sensor

The TSAP all-purpose, single point temperature sensor is encapsulated in a 6 mm, 304 series stainless steel probe.  They are offered in lengths of 4, 6, 8, 12 and 18”.  These probes offer impressive heat transfer, quick response and resist moisture penetration.  The compact ABS enclosure with a hinged and gasketed cover is provided for ease of installation.

For Duct applications:  Probes are installed in side of duct for single point temperature monitoring with the duct.  Note: Probe length needs to span the duct width. Install in straight section of duct with acceptable distance from any humidification, cooling or heating devices.

For Immersion applications: Probe needs installation in proper length thermowell determined by pipe size. For more information on use of conductive compound for thermal transfer, and types of thermowells needs per application, please refer to the installation instructions for the TSAP Series.

E-Controls.net now offers the TSAP series with a variety of thermistors to choose from.  Searching for the retired TE200B part numbers in our web-store will take you directly to the equivalent TSAP part result.  If you have any questions please contact our team, support@e-controls.net, or call us toll free at 866-215-4043.  We are currently open Mon-Fri, 7:30am to 5:30pm CST.

How to Improve the Quality of Your Indoor Air

house with ranking of air quality graph
What activity do you spend more of your time doing than anything else? Breathing, of course! Yet, no matter how important it is to have access to safe, unpolluted air, the fact of the matter is that most people underestimate the importance of quality indoor air.

That is, at least until they develop chronic respiratory problems from constantly breathing in air that contained serious pollutants. In order to improve the overall quality of your indoor air, it’s necessary to use the correct tools for the job, and that means using cutting edge air monitoring equipment.

Use Sensors
The biggest obstacle to improving Indoor Air Quality is not having the proper tools to measure it. Unlike smog, pollutants in the indoor air environment are generally not visible. You could be breathing them in all day, for weeks or months at a time, and not even be aware that you’re doing so.

This can create major problems, since chronic exposure to even small amounts of pollutants can cause serious health problems. In order to make sure that your air quality is meeting high standards, you need to be using an air quality sensor, which will give you the necessary information on any pollutant issues before they become significant dangers to your health.

Clean Up Your Circulation
Indoor air quality can degrade over time precisely because there is so little circulation. The same stale air can get circulated and recirculated inside your home again and again, collecting more pollution and impurities that compound over time.

These impurities can settle into your ventilation system, ensuring that your air environment continues to degrade as you run heating or cooling systems. Make sure to use air circulators that will introduce fresh outdoor air into your home so that you don’t end up with stale, polluted air constantly circulating in your home.

The SC series of Split-Core AC current switches activate a contact closure whenever the primary circuit current exceeds a pre-set level.  Several models are available including ones which feature integral LEDs to indicate device power and the switch status.  Most models include a multi-turn adjustment to set the trip threshold to the desired value.  Auto ranging eliminates lost jumpers.  All models are UL approved and CE compliant and feature solid-state reliability.
