Belimo Air Controls: Complying with ASHRAE guidelines for IAQ during COVID-19

ASHRAE’s (The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Epidemic Task Force created a checklist to assist facility managers in improving their indoor air quality (IAQ).  The goal is to slow the transmission of viruses through HVAC systems.  In reviewing these guidelines, Belimo has devised a checklist to evaluate the operations of field devices in these systems.

Belimo Air Controls

  • believes in creating safe and reliable HVAC systems, utilizing their lines of sensors, valves and actuators.
  • recommends replacing faulty sensors or re-calibrating them to ensure control over humidity, temperature, building pressure and air quality
  • encourages building owners to improve occupant safety, comfort and productivity, by evaluating their systems and enacting strategies to increase ventilation, improve filtration, and air cleaning.

It can be challenging to maintain proper air system performance in buildings like schools, hospitals and commercial buildings.  Belimo produces actuators, valves and sensors that create reliable HVAC systems.  They also offer convenient replacements and a wealth of retrofit solutions compatible with many control systems.  Belimo’s products are designed to maximize your system’s performance while meeting UL standards as well as these new ASHRAE requirements.  To see ASHRAE’s Epidemic Task Force’s Building Readiness/COVID-19 guidelines, click this link.

Veris C Series for 3-in-1 CO2, RH and Temperature

Model CWL
Model CDL

Veris Industries’ line of CDL/CWL (the C Series) carbon dioxide (CO2) sensors work to optimize ventilation by allowing ventilation systems to be controlled by the level of CO2 present in a space.  As a result, energy savings can be maximized.

The CWL/CDL Series detect fluctuations in these CO2 levels and signal ventilation systems to provide a fresh air inlet, optimal for the space at a given time.  In the end, your tenant's comfort is increased and energy is saved.

The C Series Individual or 3-1 CO2, Relative Humidity and Temperature sensors are microprocessor-based, self-calibrating and easy to maintain.  They provide NDIR technology for high accuracy measurement, are equipped with field-selectable outputs for operational flexibility, and utilize an integrated transducer and probe.

The C Series is ideal for use in applications where ventilation can be controlled in response to occupancy (such as office buildings, schools, retail stores, conference rooms), and where ASHRAE 62.1 air quality standard compliance is required.

Check E-Controls.net, "Your Online Source For Building Automation Supplies" for the complete line of C Series sensors manufactured by Veris Industries.

E-Controls.net Is Adding Senva Sensors To Online Store

E-Controls.net is pleased to announce the addition of Senva’s sensor line to the store, and are featuring a couple items from their differential pressure sensors category; the PW10 and PW20 series universal transmitters.

Need wet-wet differential pressure sensors for monitoring pumps and load differential pressures in HVAC systems?  Remote sensors for process control systems or flow measurements of various gases or liquids?  Senva provides conduit mounted or cable mounted sensors as options for their PW10 (Low PSID Selectable Ranges) Series or for the Senva PW20 (Standard PSID Selectable Ranges) Series.

The PW10 or PW20 transmitter (left) and remote PWS sensors.

Order these universal transmitters based on expected maximum PSIG.  For the cable mounted version, you will need to choose cable length and plenum type.  Then select quantity of 2 of the PWSxxx sensors of same pressure range for cable mounted applications or 2 PWCxxx sensors for conduit mounted applications, per (1) PW transmitter.

Senva Inc, designs and produces sensors for a variety of applications in the building controls industry; energy measurement, current/flow, air quality, temperature, pressure, and monitoring levels of CO/NO2, refrigerant and toxic gases. They pride themselves on creating solutions that maintain a higher reliability, reduce installation time and costs, and yield superior accuracy of data. Senva sensors are backed by a 7 year limited warranty. Senva was founded in 2008, and their sensors are proudly produced in Beaverton, Oregon, U.S.A.

In short, if you cannot locate a particular Senva model on our site, we can still offer it.
We are continually adding series and models to our catalog.
