Belimo Air Controls: Complying with ASHRAE guidelines for IAQ during COVID-19

ASHRAE’s (The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Epidemic Task Force created a checklist to assist facility managers in improving their indoor air quality (IAQ).  The goal is to slow the transmission of viruses through HVAC systems.  In reviewing these guidelines, Belimo has devised a checklist to evaluate the operations of field devices in these systems.

Belimo Air Controls

  • believes in creating safe and reliable HVAC systems, utilizing their lines of sensors, valves and actuators.
  • recommends replacing faulty sensors or re-calibrating them to ensure control over humidity, temperature, building pressure and air quality
  • encourages building owners to improve occupant safety, comfort and productivity, by evaluating their systems and enacting strategies to increase ventilation, improve filtration, and air cleaning.

It can be challenging to maintain proper air system performance in buildings like schools, hospitals and commercial buildings.  Belimo produces actuators, valves and sensors that create reliable HVAC systems.  They also offer convenient replacements and a wealth of retrofit solutions compatible with many control systems.  Belimo’s products are designed to maximize your system’s performance while meeting UL standards as well as these new ASHRAE requirements.  To see ASHRAE’s Epidemic Task Force’s Building Readiness/COVID-19 guidelines, click this link.
