Belimo's Non Fail-Safe Actuators Are Used For Many HVAC Applications

You may be asking, what does non-fail safe mean?  For HVAC actuators “non fail-safe” denotes that the device stays in its last position setting upon power loss or disruption to it. By contrast, a fail-safe actuator returns to a pre-set position.  Non-fail safe actuators have their place in most applications, due to their ability to mount just about anywhere, and integrate with control systems.

Belimo Air Controls produces several different model types for the building controls industry.  Below is quick run-down of their non-fail safe options.  Torque requirements are the main difference between these, but each also has multiple variations for power requirements, signal types and connectivity.

The PM Series - for torque requirements of 1400 in-lbs [160 Nm]

The GM Series - for torque requirements of 360 in-lbs [40 Nm], 90 sq. ft.

The AM Series - for torque requirements of 180 in-lbs [20 Nm], 45 sq. ft.

The NM Series - for torque requirements of 90 in-lbs [10 Nm], 22 sq. ft.

The LM Series - for torque requirements of 45 in-lbs [5 Nm], 11 sq. ft.

The CM Series - for torque requirements of 18 in-lbs [2 Nm], 4.5 sq. ft.

The UMB Series - for torque requirements of 9 in-lbs [1 Nm], 2.25 sq. ft.

The Belimo CMB24-3, offering 18-in lbs of torque, is a Non fail-safe actuator.

Enhancing System Performance

Belimo's actuators are designed to optimize system performance by seamlessly integrating with Building Automation Systems (BAS) through BACnet, Modbus, or MP-Bus protocols. For added convenience, select models feature Near Field Communication (NFC) for swift programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Promoting Energy Efficiency

Belimo's patented technology ensures superior efficiency and reduced power consumption throughout the lifecycle of the product, resulting in significant carbon emission reductions.

Precision and Reliability

Equipped with brushless DC motor technology and controlled by an ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit), Belimo actuators deliver consistent torque across their entire operational range. This design eliminates performance fluctuations due to temperature changes, supply voltage variations, or speed adjustments.

Belimo's actuators all come with a 5-year warranty.  E-Controls.net offers a vast selection of damper actuators for nearly any HVAC application.  Search our webstore today at https://www.e-controls.net/.

Use Greystone Energy’s SPC Series for Complete Temperature and Humidity Monitoring.

Greystone Energy’s SPC series is a temperature and humidity transmitter that utilizes a pair of sensors in one sleek wall mount enclosure.  For an environmental monitoring and control system the transmitter’s RH sensor monitors RH over a span of 0-100% and enlists a thermistor that is curve-matched to measure temperature.

SPC Series from Greystone

Separate setpoint controls are options for temperature and relative humidity adjustment. Also optional are external communications jack and override switch which includes OCC input. Both temp and RH setpoint constant signals are available on individual outputs (0-5, 0-10 Vdc jumper selectable, or linear 4-20 mA.  The SPC Series boasts a low profile, LCD indication and is offered in voltage and current models.  Accuracy selections are 2, 3 and 5%. Alternate configurations of Greystone’s SPC series are available with 1-4 outputs.

Greystone Energy’s SPC series is a topflight combo transmitter suitable for many different applications, and is available at Your Online Source For Building Automation Supplies, E-Controls.net.  For more information, visit our webstore today.  We offer complimentary UPS Ground shipping throughout the continental U.S. on qualifying orders.
