E-Controls.net now includes Inovonics® line of UL 864 certified commercial fire alarm system devices.

Inovonics® has designed a way to easily integrate their commercial fire devices into fire alarm systems.

Using Inovonics® RF gateways, these wireless devices are able to be added to most commercial fire alarm systems.  The EH4104R (datasheet) Receiver with Relays was designed to be used with the EchoStream® EH1115EOL (datasheet) Single Input Fire RF Transmitter (2.21K ohm end-of-line resistor, included and required for operation).  Together, these units monitor water flow and pressure in piping and post indicator valves, to deliver an alert upon the activation of a fire protection system.

As the integrating device, the EN4104R add-on receiver acts as an input to the commercial fire alarm system using hardwired form C relays.  Sending wireless signals to this receiver is the EH1115EOL single input RF transmitter, normally located in the Fire Pump Room.

Inovonics® wireless transmitters have covered government facilities, historic and national landmarks, schools, banks, hospitals, and other critical infrastructure facilities, making their fire systems tailor-made for commercial buildings of any kind.

Inovonics® Introduces New BACnet/IP Gateway

E-Controls.net welcomes the Inovonics® EN4080 IP Gateway to our product offering.

Inovonics®, a commercial wireless leader, has just introduced the EN4080 IP GatewayThis device combines the functionality of the EN4000 receiver with the flexibility of an IP appliance.

The EN4080 features optional Power over Ethernet (PoE) and supports over-the-air updates.  External LEDs indicate power, IP connectivity and message receipt.

Required with purchase of the EN4080 appliance are one of the two licenses designed for the proper function.  With a BACnet/IP license (SKU=LICBACNET) the IP gateway outputs messages in the BACnet/IP protocol, widely used for building automation and control networks.  With a MQTT, or Message Queuing Telemetry Transport license (SKU=LICMQTT), the IP gateway outputs messages in the MQTT protocol.

The EN4080 is compatible with the following Inovonics transmitters:
EN1210, EN1210W, EN1223D, EN1235D, EN1260, EN1261HT, EN501, EN1702, EN1721, EN1722, EN1723, EN1751, EN1752 and the EN1941.

Security Tips for High-Value Assets

security man with handheld transceiver
If you're in the business of protecting high-value assets, you know that the quality of your security system is the only thing ensuring the success of your work. A strong system will keep out any unwanted guests and prevent any unwanted contact between your assets and unauthorized individuals.

However, a penetrable system will leave you exposed, even if you have other strong security measures in place. While access control and video surveillance are the most widely used forms of security, there are some other systems that you should be using if you’re serious about maintaining asset integrity.

Mobile Duress Systems
If you’re serious about protecting your assets and your personnel, you should definitely look into Inovonics mobile duress technology. While video surveillance will help you protect your property from intrusion, it can still leave your personnel exposed.

A failure of the surveillance system, a blind spot in the camera’s viewing range, or a failure of your security staff to properly notice anything suspicious can severely limit the effectiveness of surveillance alone. Giving your staff access to “panic buttons” will greatly increase your overall security integrity and will ensure that personnel have access to a quick fail-safe measure to use if they are in distress of any kind.

Motion Detection
While cameras are useful, they are limited by what they’re able to capture in their particular viewing area. What’s more, they don’t automatically alert anyone to something suspicious. Motion detection technology, however, will activate as soon as it detects something. It will alert you to any movement in the area that it is watching, which will let you know if someone is gaining accessed to an unauthorized area. Learn more

Motion detection is a much stronger method for getting the attention of your security personnel, and it will allow them to focus their attention on any areas that might actually be compromised, instead of trying to watch over everything at once.

See our selection of Belimo electronic pressure independant control valves (ePIV) at e-controls.net

No manual balancing valves are needed when using Belimo electronic pressure independent control valves (ePIV)

The ePIV by Belimo directly measures flow by combining a flow meter and a 2-way control valve. The actuator has a powerful algorithm that modulates the control valve to maintain the exact flow based on the control signal set by the DDC Controller. The flow reading is reported back to the controller using a standard signal, and this value can be used by the Building Automation System to perform advanced control and energy strategies.  The ePIV can be used to regulate flow through air handlers, heating and cooling coils, fan coil units, unit ventilators and VAV re-heat coils.
Other features include:
  • Predictable flow throughout valve travel eliminates over-pumping and provides favorable energy savings.
  • Equal percentage flow characteristic leads to system controlability.
  • Prevents energizing additional chillers by maintaining desired Delta T

E-controls.net Has Broad Assortment of
Belimo Valve Assemblies

Whether you need  PICCV, CCV, globe, butterfly, ball, or others, Belimo has reliable valve assemblies and e-controls.net has your needs covered at the best prices with outstanding customer service.

Pressure independent valves are not affected by pressure fluctuations in the system.  By precisely controlling the flow, the pressure independent valves eliminate the need for balancing valves. The biggest benefit comes in the form of energy savings by eliminating overflow wastes energy by over pumping. Characterized control valves mark a true advancement in control valves. It combines the high close-off capabilities of a ball valve with a specialized disc that ensures a true equal percentage flow characteristic. The comprehensive line of globe valves, butterfly valves and ball valves fulfill the requirements of many HVAC applications. Globe valves are the perfect fit for such applications as unit ventilation and air handling units as well as other water/steam control. Butterfly valves fulfill the requirement of commercial and industrial HVAC applications.
